Cionek.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-dc20d79f-e4e3-46b9-a27a-b9e9f8efbbd6\">Millikan foi vice-presidente do <strong>Conselho<\/strong> <strong>Nacional<\/strong> <strong>de<\/strong> <strong>Pesquisa<\/strong> durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial e desempenhou pap\u00e9is fundamentais na elabora\u00e7\u00e3o de <strong>dispositivos<\/strong> <strong>anti-submarinos<\/strong> e <strong>meteorol\u00f3gicos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depois da guerra foi nomeado <strong>Diretor<\/strong> <strong>do<\/strong> <strong>Laborat\u00f3rio<\/strong> <strong>de F\u00edsica Norman Bridge<\/strong> no Instituto de Tecnologia da Clif\u00f3rnia e Presidente do Conselho Executivo do Instituto, at\u00e9 sua aposentadoria.
