Ela pesquisava &#8220;<em>apenas pelo prazer de fazer f\u00edsica<\/em>&#8220;, diz sua biografia publicada pelo Pr\u00eamio Nobel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cientista americana nascida na Alemanha, a f\u00edsica Maria Goeppert Mayer, consagrou-se por seu trabalho em f\u00edsica nuclear, ela estudou as ideias existentes sobre a estrutura e a propriedade de aglutina\u00e7\u00e3o do \u00e1tomo.<br>Procurou desenvolver sua pr\u00f3pria teoria, ainda em uso hoje em dia.
